I am a leader who values simplicity, straightforward communication, and authentic collaboration in flat organizations. I set clear responsibilities, goals, and objectives for my team and believe that self-organization and autonomy allow people to grow into strong, empowered leaders. I enjoy working with curious and enthusiastic team members who can hold themselves accountable, show ownership, and know when to ask for help. I excel at partnering with strategic cross-functional leaders to maintain momentum and focus on projects, and I am skilled at breaking up huge projects or ideas into manageable chunks. My main mission as a leader is to facilitate growth and development, and I always ensure that my team feels supported and cared for. I appreciate user-centric companies who believe that a talented in-house creative team is key to exceptional brand marketing.

“Half-baked effort is almost as good as no effort put in at all. Always seek to do your best. Good things have a way of finding those who put forth their best.”

- Chris Erickson

I take pride in mentorship. Over the years, I have enjoyed seeing many rookies experience growth. For example, Julia's first job was as a junior designer at Vita Coco under my guidance. Since then, she has held creative leadership positions at Ugly Drinks, Mars (M&Ms, Snickers), and Sabra Dipping Company. Rhea is now a senior packaging designer at Sir Kensington's, Daniela is at Ruggable, and Jared is at Webflow. Bianca expressed an interest in UI and has since switched from graphic design to product design, thriving in her new role. Erik is now an amazing design manager, and I am happy to have re-recruited two former colleagues, Ed and Staci, who are now part of my current team.
